At ArborGen we have a 50 year legacy of planting and growing trees, monitoring forest productivity and protecting biodiversity and habitat throughout the world. Maintaining the balance between increasing demands for wood, fiber and energy and the preservation of forest health and diversity for future generations is the challenge of today’s forest managers and landowners. Our aim is to seek new and innovative ways to continue to accomplish this goal of stewardship of the world’s forests.
ArborGen accepts that we have a stewardship role in the use of forests and forest land. We agree with the Food and Agriculture Organization that our tree improvement work is vital now and in the future to help forests maintain biodiversity, productivity, regeneration capacity, vitality and their potential to fulfill relevant ecological, economic and social functions at the local, national and global level.
