We maintain an ongoing process for considering new product opportunities to add into the commercial pipeline. Those include:
- Improved resistance to stress: We continue to develop products that resist stresses such as cold and drought. This will allow the geographic expansion and increased planting of commercially vauluable trees that can better withstand climate change.
- Improved tree establishment through competition control: We are evaluating the opportunity to introduce herbicide tolerant trees. These will significantly help the establishment and survival of seedlings, particularly those that face significant competition in their first few years.
- New product opportunities: We are looking to develop advanced, high-value wood based materials for next-generation renewable products such as biobased plastics, building materials, fibers, and composites that would fulfill the needs of environmentally friendly industries and consumers.
